Merry Christmas 2025

This year’s video Christmas Card doesn’t feature as much of Noah since he wasn’t around, but it was still a good year and we had a good time as a family when we were together. I am so proud of both of the kids and their accomplishments.

Josie’s Last Recital

Since the kids started with Rick Zelle as their piano teacher, this is the first time we’ve been invited to a recital. Josie played I’m Still Standing by Elton John, and did a great job. We are so proud of the kids and their musical abilities. A short video of her performance is included below.

Death From Above

Noah came home this weekend and so we had our traditional Labor Day cookout on Saturday night. I forgot to take any pictures, but we did have an exciting visit from a juvenile hawk of some kind that I caught on the surveillance camera. He thought Selena looked tasty, and if Dixie hadn’t scared him off by screaming, it might...

Alan Walker Concert

When we heard that Alan Walker was coming to St. Louis, we decided to get tickets and give them to Josie for Christmas. This was her first concert, and my first time at The Factory. It was a really good show – although we were both glad we brought our earplugs. There’s a short video below.

Caribbean Cruise 2025

We got back last night from a 10-day vacation that included a 7-day cruise aboard the Norwegian Getaway. We stayed a couple of extra nights in New Orleans to explore the French Quarter. Honestly, the trip was exhausting, and I need a vacation to recover from my vacation, but we had fun and made lots of memories. Photos from the...

Merry Christmas 2024

This has been a challenging year – drama at work and losing both parents – it was a lot. But there was plenty to celebrate too. Not least of which is the establishment of The Pipes Family Foundation. We won’t really get that rolling until next year, but the hard part of setting everything up is done, now we just...

Grand Canyon 2024

We just got back from our 12-day roadtrip out west – with overnight stops in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Bryce Canyon and Flagstaff. We drove over 2,000 miles, ate some great food, and made some great memories. Some photos from the trip are available in my album, and check out the short video below.

Merry Christmas 2023

This was a crazy busy year, but maybe I feel that way every year. Noah and Josie had big milestones this year, and we went on two family road trips. I tried to capture the highlights in our annual video above.

Eagle Court of Honor

Tonight we celebrated Noah earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and (since he’ll age out next week) his entire Scouting career with the retrospective video below. We rented the lodge at Beaumont and had quite a few guests attend, many of whom had great things to say about our young man. Needless to say, we’re very proud of him.

Memphis 2023

We took the kids to Memphis for a long weekend and stayed right down on Beale Street. It was a nice little getaway and we saw some cool stuff and ate some great food. Photos are now up in my album and check out the video below.

Great Lakes 2023

We just got back from our loop around the Great Lakes. We drove 1,600 miles, with stops in Mackinac Island, Ottawa, Montreal, and Niagara Falls, among others. We took almost 2,000 photos, some of which are now in my photo album. We saw a lot of stuff and made some great memories. See the video below.

Key West

We spent ten days in Florida, visiting the grandparents in Winter Garden, a day at Disney, and then a 700-mile road trip to the Keys. Pictures from the trip are now up in my photo album, and check out the video below.

Merry Christmas 2021

Once again, I missed a couple of years, but our “annual” Christmas Card video made its appearance out on the public site too. Since I’m no longer on Facebook, I’m hosting these on my site again, with the biggest benefit being that the copyright nazis can’t shut me down. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

New England 2021

The journey home was a bit more challenging than we would have liked, but it just made us appreciate our good luck on the trip that much more. With the exception of one day on Nantucket, the weather was darn near perfect. We drove 2,000 miles, visited six states, and saw all kinds of amazing sights and made some great...
