Guns n Roses

On Thursday I got notice that they were giving away free tickets at work for the GnR concert at Busch Stadium on Sunday. I texted Josie to see if she would want to go, and by the time she had responded 5 minutes later, most of the tickets were already claimed. But we got a couple of seats behind third base.

The show was pretty good – Public Enemy opened for them, and Josie wasn’t really into them – and even though Axl’s voice is not what it once was, they cranked out some of their hits, and a few of my favorites from Appetite for Destruction (including Mr. Brownstone, and It’s So Easy).

The show was cut short by an intense thunderstorm that rolled in, and at one point Axl announced they would play a few more songs and then let everyone go so we had time to get to our cars safely. They went on to play Sweet Child O’ Mine while the lightning lit up the sky.
