Mid-Course Correction

The past year has been tumultuous. I haven’t really talked about it here, but with the loss of both of my parents last year and the upheaval at my employer, when I got to the end of 2024, I had to spend some time reflecting on whether or not I was on the right path. After ten years as a first line manager, and no indication that I was ever going to advance, I was no longer sure that I wanted to continue in such a thankless job. That’s why, when my boss was laid off in January, I took it as a sign that it was time for me move on. So this month I started a new position at work. I’ve left management and I’ve left software, so this is a significant leap of faith, but I’m confident that I can do the job, and I’m confident that the MQ-25 program is stable and will be around for a couple of decades at least. So this is likely my last job before retirement, and that’s a strange feeling. But here’s to new chapters…
