A Day Downtown

I took today off work to extend the already long weekend, and I took the kids on a staycation trip downtown. We made a quick stop at the Scott Joplin House and then headed down to the Arch grounds. On our way from the parking garage, we also stopped at the marker where Fort San Carlos is thought to have stood during the Battle of St. Louis in 1780. The kids don’t remember their first trip to the Arch, but to be fair, they were pretty little. So I thought I owed them another trip, so they could actually say they’ve been up in it. Dixie was going to go, but wasn’t feeling well when she got up, so she stayed home. But the three of us made the most of our day and had fun anyway. More photos are in my album.
