The Sound of Music

Two weeks ago we braved the pandemic to visit Jackson Pianos downtown and let the kids try out some of their refurbished instruments. Coincidentally, they had a 1988 Yamaha upright there that the kids both liked and it was big enough that Noah could actually fit under it. I wrote them a check and we headed home.
A few days later a check arrives from Florida for the entire sum of the piano and we are very grateful for our generous grandparents. Because it turned out to be a Christmas present, we put a bow and ribbons on it before the kids sat down to play it for the first time. It sure sounds great and the kids are marveling over how the whole thing resonates with each note they play – quite a difference from Dixie’s Clavinova digital piano that she grew up playing.
