My Dad

This was a rough week. I got my dad moved down to El Dorado Springs. He has moved in with his sister Marlene, for which I am grateful because I’m not sure how much longer he can actually live on his own without help. So it’s nice knowing that he has someone else there in case of an emergency. He’s close enough to Community Springs that he can visit mom everyday, which is also good. He told me he has been worried that she would forget who he was – but as soon as he showed up there, she smiled at him and it was clear that she recognized him.

I unloaded the moving truck into the basement and then hung around a couple more days to help him get settled in. We installed his 3ABN satellite dish and I ran a cable into his bedroom so he can watch whatever it is he watches on that thing.

When it was time to leave, I got the trailer stuck in the mud and ended up having to call a tow truck to drag it out so I could get back on the road and get home. It took about two hours and $200, but in the end, everything worked out fine. I sure hope he is happy there. Now the real work begins – emptying out the house in O’Fallon and putting it on the market.
