Bye Bye Chickens

It was with a sad heart that we said goodbye to our flock this week. Princess, along with a couple of the others (we suspect) had developed a taste for their own eggs, so we were only getting a couple of eggs per week, and the rest were getting eaten. Couple this with the fact that we plan to be in California for two weeks in May, and it just made sense to start over with a new brood. Our seven chickens produced 2,126 eggs over the last four years. Luckily one of my coworkers also keeps chickens and he was more than happy to take them, so they are now part of a much larger flock in DeSoto. We will miss them, but we’ll get some new chicks next year.
