We were lucky to see the ponies
Along with other wildlife.
We spent two nights in Virginia Beach.
The weather was perfect, but...
Hurricane Florence was on her way.
The kids had a blast that day.
This was the most fun I've ever had at the beach
I got too much sun, but it was worth it.

and went up in the lighthouse.
The top is like a greenhouse, great view - but hot!
We also saw the Cape Henry Memorial.
Then it was back to the beach after dinner
to enjoy the evening
and the sunset.

Then it was off to Jamestown.
The kids got some
hands-on history lessons.
And we got to see
some really cool
stuff!
We stayed four nights
right on the Palace Green in Williamsburg.

We spent a day in Yorktown too.
Then it was off to Charlottesville
on a cool and misty morning
to see Monticello
and walk the grounds.
We hung out with TJ
for a while.
Then we walked around the campus of UVa.
The next day, we headed to DC
They have the Space Shuttle Discovery and an SR-71!
The next day we went to the National Archives
and then walked The Mall.
The Smithsonian "Castle."
The monument has been closed for repairs since 2016!

Inside the Jefferson Memorial
After an early morning tour of the White House
we trekked to Mount Vernon
to see the view of the Potomac
and walked the grounds.
We visited Old Town Alexandria for dinner.
The Zoo Metro station is the deepest in DC.

of the US Capitol.
We wore the kids out!
We spent a day at
the Natural History Musuem.

We walked past the SCOTUS.
We spent a day at the National Gallery of Art.
